Cargo Protection For Spirits

For the transport of spirits, pallets are frequently utilized. Bottles are fixed in special holes inside the boxes which can be equipped with heating or cushioning material. Rods or straps are also used for additional securing. Plexi tanks, tank containers, or food tanks can also be used for transporting wine.

The conditions for transporting spirits is a big consideration related to wine imports. Frequently, regions in which wine is produced are less urbanized. The organization of transport can be complicated by this factor. To ensure the highest quality of a product, insulated food tankers are frequently used.

Flexi Tanks

Mainly for bulk wine transport, flexi tank technology has been popular for some time now. Dedicated to the transportation of liquids, this system is a tailor-made solution. Thanks to the flexi tank’s flexibility, suppliers stress that every inch of space can be efficiently used. Compared to Intermediate Bulk Containers (IBCs), up to one third more products can ship this way.  Additional qualities include the following:

  • In case of secondary fermentation, adaptability to any gas accumulation.
  • Recycling.
  • Preventing oxygen from affecting the quality of a product, a protective barrier is used.
  • Minimum product residue.
  • The lowest surface volume/area ratio.

Thermostatic Film

To protect beverages against changes in temperature, a thermostatic film is used. For both full container deliveries and groupage, it is mainly used for wine shipments. On individual boxes or pallets, or inside a container, this thermal insulation film is installed. As an alternative to transport by refrigerated container, the thermostatic cover is used. Eight sizes are available from High Cube container sizes down to individual wine cartons. In about 10 minutes, one person can install a film on a 20-foot container. By two people, in about 12 minutes, it can be installed on a 40-foot container. It only takes a few minutes to apply thermal insulation to a box or pallet.

The thermal effects of convection, conduction, and radiation are reduced by thermostatic film. It provides protection against odors and pollution as well as minimizing water leaks and condensation. Environmental threats are also reduced with this film.

Bubble wrap can also be provided for more sensitive shipments. Where, in extreme conditions, additional protection of sensitive loads is required – or for individual cartons or containers packed by hand – this insulation/film is a particularly ideal solution.
